A delegation of Senior Managers of Latin America Airports visited Israel on June 6-8, and were hosted by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Israeli Institute of Export and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Israel-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The participants represented Airports from Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Panama, EL Salvador, Uruguai, Equador, Peru, Colombia and Guatemala. Mr. Henrique Kuchnir, Deputy Chairman of our Chamber, accompanied the delegation.
On June 06, the delegations were hosted by the Deputy Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and attended lectures on "Aerial Security ", by the Israeli Security Service, "Israel and the Middle East ", by Ambassador Yair Recanati, and "Israel and Counter-Terrorism, Bilateral, Multilateral and Global Aspects" by Mr. Iftah Curiel.
Next day the delegation visited the Ben Gurion International Airport, where the General Manager presented its functioning. Furthermore, the Director of Planning, Control and Projects, Mr. Nahum Liss, presented the "Concept and Implementation of Security in the Airport", followed by a guided tour of the Centers for Command, Control and Computerized Simulations, the whole process of passengers flow, and baggage inspection.
In the last day of the visit, the delegation received a detailed review by Mr. Samson Katz of the Passenger Services Division. Furthermore, there was a visit to the commercial section of the Airport, passport control and the biometric system.
Business meetings took place later in the day, organized by the Israeli Institute of Export and International Cooperation, with the presence of 32 Israeli companies. |
