Irrigation potential in Brazil can grow more then 1000%
The irrigation sector in Brazil has potential for growth of more than 1,000% over the medium to long term. According to the data of the Chamber of Irrigation Equipment (CSEI), the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment (Abimaq) show that the country has 4.1 million hectares irrigated, this represents 7% of the potential 60 million hectares of farmland. In 2010, the general forecast of growth in irrigation varies between 15% and 20%.

Brazil starts producing Green Plastic
COSAN, the largest manufacturer of sugar and alcohol in Brazil signed a contract of 1 billion R$ to supply BRASKEM raw material to be used for production of “green” plastic The contract will be for a period of five years starting 1st of August.

Producers in the state of Paraná get better prices for oranges
The producers of orange in the state of Paraná are beginning to reap the harvest that promises to be one of the best in recent years. Due to a drop in the crop production both in the international arena and in Sao Paulo, the expectation of the producer is to close the season with the orange box (40.8 pounds) worth up to $ 12, more than double the U.S. $ 5.20 closing the previous harvest, which ended earlier this year .
The biggest producing region of Paraná is the Paranavaí, with 45% of the area, followed by Maringá with 22%, Londrina, Umuarama 13% and 5%.

Production of Orange is predicted to be lowest in past seven years
The orange crop in Sao Paulo state - which accounts for about 90% of Brazilian production - will be 10% lower this year. As estimated by the Brazilian Association of Citrus (Associtrus), producers estimate to collect about 280 million boxes (40.8 kgs /box) in the 2010/11 cycle, 30 million boxes less than in the previous cycle which will probably will be the smallest crop in the past seven years in the state.

Agroshow visitors almost double from previous year
